Dear Parents and Families,

We have had a fun week in first grade. Please ask your child for some information on the rock cycle.

Parents, please have your child here on time. We have had a great deal of late students. When your child is late they are missing out on important class time. For example, during the first 15 minutes of class, in each room, they are missing out on writing practice.

The First Annual SPOOKTACULAR is Monday, Oct. 28th. Please come at your child's designated time (or at the time designated for older siblings) and enjoy the "Haunted Hallway" of visual arts and then move outside to see "Thriller" performed by the older students.

Halloween will be here very soon. Students may wear their costumes to school. No masks or weapons. Masks will be allowed during the parade only. Our parade start time is 1:20. Each grade has its own start time. Students will then perform "Thriller" at the back of the school. Students may go home at that time, however, they must go back to their classroom with their class and with their teacher before being checked out. 

Field Trip permission slips will be coming home on Monday and will need to be returned by Wednesday, Oct. 30th. If you would like to volunteer  please join us at Grandpa's Pond at 10:00 on Friday, Nov. 1st. 

We will not have a spelling test next week, but we will send words home. Please still practice with your child.


In Language Arts we will practice Proper Nouns, the suffix 'es', present tense action verbs, past tense action verbs using 'ed', and related sentences.
