Dear Parents and Families,

What a chilly week it has been. Please remember to send an  actual coat with your child when the temperature drops. We still go outside for recess 3 times a day.

Please prepare a Valentine's Day box for your child to bring to school next week. Also, a Valentine for each child in your student's class. Only have your child sign his/her name. Please contact your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Next week in Language Arts we will practice  Rule 10 (when we add a suffix to a word with 2 syllables and the second syllable is accented and ends in one consonant, with 1 vowel before it, we write a 2nd final consonant before adding the suffix that begins with a vowel), adjectives, and suffixes 'er' 'ing' and 'ly'.

To ensure a solid foundation in spelling for second grade we will be revisiting previously taught spelling words, going back to week 10 words, and continuing the rest of the year from there for most students. All students will be held accountable for all 30 words. Please practice every day.  Some students will still be practicing with the class, but will also be encouraged to study and test on words from week 20 on.
